A few days ago I finally received my "Intex Aqua Fish" smartphone, running the new Sailfish operating system.

I decided to create here a small index of my experiences as the Sailfish OS (which is what many people hope will be an alternative to the other established operating systems Android, iOS and Windows) is relatively new and therefore unknown to most people, and as the informations are a bit spread around the whole Internet.

The knowledge gathering will be an ongoing process (as I have a lot to learn myself), therefore the structure of these pages might end up being weird.

To be clear: my main focus will be the Sailfish operating system!
The HW on which the OS is running happens to be the "Intex Aqua Fish", but even if I think that its specs and extremely low price make it the perfect smartphone to experiment with, I don't care a lot about the phone itself.

DISCLAMERS:

  • I will probably end up using "root"-access for most things => YOU CAN COMPLETELY DESTROY YOUR SMARTPHONE IF YOU ISSUE THE WRONG COMMANDS WHEN BEING LOGGED IN AS THE SUPERUSER!!!
  • WHAT I STATE MIGHT BE WRONG => USE YOUR BRAIN BEFORE DOING ANYTHING
  • I WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT YOU'LL CAUSE TO YOUR SMARTPHONE
